learning, living, loving and laughing

Remembrance Day 2016

On Friday 11th November at 11am the children of Ridgewell School came together with members of the local community at the village war memorial for a service of Remembrance. The 'Last Post' was played by Mrs Lowe to signal the beginning of two minutes silence. The children followed this by reading prayers and laying a special commemorative poppy made of 100 small poppies which each child made. The service was concluded with the children singing 'Remember'. We are extremely proud of our pupils for the respect that they have shown.

 Harvest Festival - Foodbank Collection

We held our Harvest Festival celebrations in the church of St Lawrence. Each class contributed a special part to the service. Children and their families brought generous donations of tinned and dried foods to take to our local foodbank in Haverhill who provide three day emergency food packs for local people in crisis.

Autumn Community Welly Walk

We have enjoyed our first of this years community 'welly walks'. Our whole school donned their wellington boots and set off on a two mile walk around our lovely village, taking in the beautiful surroundings on the way. We walked through the church yard, meadow and local fields and farms, whilst enjoying the fantastic autumn weather.

Ridgewell Airfield Commemorative Museum Visit

Thank you to everyone at Ridgewell Airfield Commemorative Museum for making us all feel welcome. All the children in years 5 & 6 thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Village Litter Pick

Well done to year groups 3 & 4 who put on their gloves to take part in the annual village litter pick.
