Welcome to Earth Class! Our class teaching team is Mrs Andrews and Miss Gipson!
This page is where you can find out about what we have been learning, our daily routines and see what Earth Class is all about.
A visitor for Earth Class!
Earth Class were very lucky to have a special visitor come to speak to them. In line with our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic, we had a lady from the fire and police service come to talk to us about how the firefighters and police officers help us in our community. The children were fascinated and really enjoyed seeing a real-life firefighter’s uniform!
. . .
It is widely researched that outdoor learning helps develop a child in so many areas such as: physical, social, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual. We are so lucky to have a super forest and outdoor areas that the children can explore. The children really enjoyed their first session of the year and can’t wait to go back again!
During our latest Forest School session the children were tasked with creating a nest and making some very delicious bird feeders. We used a wildlife camera to try to capture any new visitors to the forest and we had some great results. The children have watched the lovely video footage of many birds and below are some of the photos. Hope you enjoy them as much as we have.
Being a Game Changer
The children have been thinking about Being a Game Changer and how not all Super Heroes wear capes. Detective Sergeant McMaster made a special appearance where the children got the change to ask him questions about his role in the police force, tried on the police uniform and were even put in handcuff!! Please see below for some super photos of this experience.
